"i would go there on thursdays, because i was in the area but last thursday, I was not greeted at the counter.. the 2 people behind it were on the phone and completely ignored me, soa i had to wait for my husband anyway i went to the bar,, SO we ate at the bar and they forgot the soup and salad thta was supposed to come before the meal. and the waiter admonished the bartender right in front of me,, I was very uncomfortable after that so got the bill and left Im not going back ..mind u the food was good but the attitude of the staff left much to be desired ..oh well"

"I go there from time to time. For the most part its fine the food is ok, the service leaves lots of room for improvement. However, last time I visited it was a disaster. My best friend and I wanted a quick dinner, we got there and they were dead. The server approached us almost right away to ask for drinks, I said we need a min, he came back in 5 and rudely asked if we made up our minds. When we ordered he wouldnt let me substitute a $4 soup for a $2 salad soup was in the combo, I said I dont eat meat so when he said that the combo comes with PORK fried rice, I asked to substitute it for vegetable fried rice again cheaper than the original he refused. So I changed my order completely and got some thing that was half the price. The food wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. NOW THE BEST PART We asked for the check and from the moment we gave them our credit cards to the point when they brought us the cards back 30 minutes passed. For the first 15 min we had no idea what took so long, after all they were DEAD. Then a manager came over and said their credit card machine has malfunctioning. So we sat there for 30 min, anxious to leave and not ordering another round of drinks in fear of it taking another half hour; But even if we wanted to, no one offered us another round not for free nor for money, not a desert, NOTHING. We sat there waiting and enduring a conversation of some Jersey Shore wannabes sitting next to us. Now every place has some issues and that is understandable, but no one should neglect their customers, not when you are dead!"

"Terrible Odor as soon as you walk into the restaurant. The greeter was nice, however the wait staff seemed annoyed to be there and stood there in a large group rather than going around to check on customers and offering refills. None of their services were provided to my group aside from bringing us our food. The food was slightly below average at best. Their soups tasted the way they looked: unappetizing. Lunch specials however are probably one of the lowest prices I've seen on the Island. Although this is not a take-out place and offers a bar/restaurant setting, I will most likely not return here."

"My wife and I just ate here for the second time in about a year. I honestly think this might be the best Chinese food on Staten Island, at least anywhere near the North Shore. The waiters are very friendly and attentive and the prices are not bad, even for drinks. The only problems I have with Oriental Plaza are that they have a very small parking lot and if you don't arrive early you could have a long wait for a table. I actually prefer ordering Chinese food for delivery, but on the rare occasions that I go out for it, Oriental Plaza is the best bet."

"Overall great place for drinks .. But food was bad... The entree was pretty small and the rice you can tell was scooped and places on your plate.. This is when I ate "at" the resturant .. Next time I said hey why not trie delivery with ordering diffrent entrees... Well guess what happened same issue with food and rice .. Then they forgot to bring a 2 liter soda I ordered.. I call back and state the problem .. They say sure be back right away .. 45 minutes passes and finally soda comes back... It felt like it was being stored in the sun.. I called then to now complain that you forgot my soda and 45 you give me something practically undrinkable .. Upset I stated I grossly overpayed for this soda $5.00 for 2 liter..!!! they dident offer to reimburse for the soda.. Never again..... And this time I mean never again..."

"Their Japanese lunch specials are more on the authentic traditional side than any other place on the island. Very good Salmon, cooked just right and not dry, the portion is a great size for the lunch specials, not skimpy. "Their filet mignon with vegetables are, quite possibly, the best thing on the menu. It's cooked to perfection and a good cut of meat. Giving them one star because a customer was too irresponsible to also check to see if the top is sealed is just ridiculous. It just goes to show the "entitlement" issue of this island. We've been coming here since it opened, and when it was behind the mall. The owner is always walking around and talking to the guests, the food is always hot and delicious, and it's consistent. They're truly the best Chinese restaurant on this island."

"We were customers here for 5 years and were treated badly. We ordered 2 large orders for delivery. The restaurant forgot 1 item. We called and the woman handling phone orders did not believe US. We asked her to correct the problem but gave us a hard time and reluctantly sent us the missing item in a wet bag spite work. "My daughter had a first birthday party for her son at the Oriental Plaza. The food was delicious, she chose the higher priced menu but everyone was commenting on the choices and the quality of the food. It was not the usual chinese food. We had the downstairs party room which was a little small for her party but was more private for the kids to run around and not bother other customers. Would highly recommend them for a party."
